The BST150 is designed to be used with with phones and hands free kits that do not have an antenna jack connection on the phone. Some phones, including many popular Nokia models, can only connect to an external antenna or booster using passive "ring type" or "holder type" antenna connectors. The BST150 is a wireless repeater that is not directly connected to an antenna port on the phone. Even though this device is a wireless repeater that can be used in cars, home, office etc., it is physically connected to the cellular phone in similar manner as a booster and the losses between the cellphone and capacitive coupler (antenna pickup cable) are limited to a fixed value. The BST150 has extra high gain to compensate for the signal loss between the cellphone and the antenna pick-up. This high gain wireless repeater will produce 3 watts of power when used with a Smoothtalker passive antenna connector cable or smoothtalker hands free kit and compatible cell phone. This repeater can also be added to Nokia OEM hands free kits that use passive antenna couplers. Note: The BST150 wireless repeater is designed for Dual-band phones and not compatible with PCS only phones.
